679 of the 799 stations seen during the week changed at least one price.
The cheapest unleaded in Scotland on Sunday 13 September 2026 was 155.9p at Costco Wholesale Edinburgh, Edinburgh (EH20 9BY), members only; the most expensive was 205.2p at Steisean Connaidh Chrosabol, Crossapol (PA77 6UP), a gap of 49.3p, or £24.65 on a 50-litre tank.
The cheapest diesel was 174.9p at Costco Wholesale Edinburgh, Edinburgh (EH20 9BY), members only.
Across the UK, unleaded was up 3.5p over the same week, at 169.3p, which puts Scotland 1.2p above the national average.
Among the towns of Scotland, unleaded fell most in Dumfries (down 0.7p to 168.9p) and rose most in Stornoway (up 9.7p to 179.6p), Lairg (up 7.8p to 177.4p), Blairgowrie (up 7.0p to 170.2p).
"Drivers in Scotland paid 3.2p more for a litre of unleaded this week. On a 50-litre tank, that is £1.60 more than a week earlier. The gap between the cheapest and the dearest forecourt in Scotland is 49.3p, so where you fill up still matters more than when." said Jacky A., editor of fuelpricetoday.co.uk.

How the figures are computed
Each average is the mean of the prices changed in the last 7 days at the filling stations of Scotland, motorway services left out and prices more than 25p from the day's median discarded. The cheapest and most expensive stations are judged against the stations within 10 km, so that a typing error cannot top the list. The week runs from Monday to Sunday.
