Press office: weekly fuel price figures for every UK town
Every Monday, Fuel Price Today publishes a bulletin for the UK, for each nation, for every postcode area and for every town with three or more filling stations: the average price of unleaded and diesel at the start and end of the week, the cheapest and most expensive station, how many stations changed a price, and a chart. Each bulletin comes as a page, a plain-text release, a PNG and a CSV. All of it is free to publish with a link.
This week
Published 26 Oct 2026. 4 nations, 120 postcode areas and 730 towns.
Unleaded down 0.7p to 173.0p and diesel down 0.2p to 198.5p across 6,867 filling stations in the UK, 19 to 25 October 2026.
What each bulletin contains
- A headline and a standfirst with the week's change, the new average, and how many stations it covers. Every figure is computed from the data; nothing is written by hand.
- The cheapest and most expensive forecourt on the last day of the week, for unleaded and diesel, with the gap in pence and on a 50-litre tank.
- The towns that moved most within the area, up and down, each linked to its own bulletin.
- A quote attributed to the editor, ready to use, and the plain-text release with a copy button.
- A chart of the last 30 days, 1200 by 630 pixels, and a CSV of every station in the area with its prices at the start and end of the week.
- A permanent page. Bulletins stay online, so a link in an article keeps working. New ones are announced in the RSS feed.

Terms of use
Everything on these pages, figures, text, charts and data, is free to quote and publish with a link to the bulletin or a credit to fuelpricetoday.co.uk. The underlying prices are the government's Fuel Finder open data, published by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero under the Open Government Licence v3.0; we collect them every three hours and keep the daily record that the official feed does not.

How the figures are computed
An average is the mean of the prices changed in the last 30 days, motorway services left out, after discarding prices more than 25p from the day's median, which is where typing errors sit. The cheapest and most expensive stations are judged against the stations within 10 km before they are named. Costco forecourts, which only serve members, are marked. A week runs from Monday to Sunday and the bulletin is published on the Monday that follows. The method is the same on every page of the site, so a figure here matches the trends page and each town page. The long view, back to 2003, is on the petrol price history page.
Bulletins written before 23 October 2026 counted only prices changed in the last 7 days. As prices settled, that left out more and more stations whose price had simply not moved, and the rule became 30 days across the site. Published bulletins are not rewritten: each one states the rule it used.
