The weekly change compares the same 6,545 filling stations with an unleaded price on both days, so a station dropping out of the figures does not move it.
7,279 of the 8,042 stations seen during the week changed at least one price.
The cheapest unleaded in the UK on Sunday 13 September 2026 was 149.9p at Corner Filling Station, Cookstown (BT80 0HF); the most expensive was 205.2p at Steisean Connaidh Chrosabol, Crossapol (PA77 6UP), a gap of 55.3p, or £27.65 on a 50-litre tank.
The cheapest diesel was 170.9p at Go Ballymena, Ballymena (BT42 4GA).
Among the towns of the UK, unleaded fell most in Dumfries (down 0.7p to 168.9p), Ilminster (down 0.3p to 170.9p), Barking (down 0.2p to 164.5p) and rose most in Stornoway (up 9.7p to 179.6p), Larne (up 9.3p to 168.0p), Holywood (up 8.0p to 165.2p).
"Drivers in the UK paid 3.5p more for a litre of unleaded this week. On a 50-litre tank, that is £1.75 more than a week earlier. The gap between the cheapest and the dearest forecourt in the UK is 55.3p, so where you fill up still matters more than when." said Jacky A., editor of fuelpricetoday.co.uk.

How the figures are computed
Each average is the mean of the prices changed in the last 7 days at the filling stations of the UK, motorway services left out and prices more than 25p from the day's median discarded. The cheapest and most expensive stations are judged against the stations within 10 km, so that a typing error cannot top the list. The week runs from Monday to Sunday. Details on how this site works.
