The weekly change compares the same 229 filling stations with an unleaded price on both days, so a station dropping out of the figures does not move it.
339 of the 582 stations seen during the week changed at least one price.
The cheapest unleaded in Northern Ireland on Sunday 27 September 2026 was 154.9p at Solo 24 Hr (BT80 8DR); the most expensive was 179.9p at Aughrim Filling Station, Magherafelt (BT45 8HB), a gap of 25.0p, or £12.50 on a 50-litre tank.
The cheapest diesel was 179.9p at Top Stewartstown Road, Belfast (BT11 9NB).
Across the UK, unleaded was up 1.7p over the same week, at 173.7p, which puts Northern Ireland 5.9p below the national average.
Among the towns of Northern Ireland, unleaded fell most in Craigavon (down 0.8p to 167.2p), Banbridge (down 0.8p to 165.5p), Newry (down 0.7p to 167.4p) and rose most in Ballymena (up 1.9p to 167.0p), Coleraine (up 1.6p to 167.8p), Lisburn (up 1.6p to 167.7p).
"Drivers in Northern Ireland paid 0.9p more for a litre of unleaded this week. On a 50-litre tank, that is £0.45 more than a week earlier. The gap between the cheapest and the dearest forecourt in Northern Ireland is 25.0p, so where you fill up still matters more than when." said Jacky A., editor of fuelpricetoday.co.uk.

How the figures are computed
Each average is the mean of the prices changed in the last 7 days at the filling stations of Northern Ireland, motorway services left out and prices more than 25p from the day's median discarded. The cheapest and most expensive stations are judged against the stations within 10 km, so that a typing error cannot top the list. The week runs from Monday to Sunday.
